ORFA’s #150RecFacilities Campaign Winner

TORONTO, December 22, 2017 - Congratulations to the City of Pickering’s Youth Forum, ORFA’s #150RecFacilities campaign winner! Over 100 students from Pickering's high schools and grade 8 public schools participated in the City of Pickering's 150 Youth Forum. This event motivated the students to think beyond the compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to envision a fully accessible and inclusive future for Pickering, and Canada. Well done City of Pickering! The ORFA is giving our first prize winner one ORFA course registration valued at $1000.00.

The ORFA did receive several more submissions for its #150RecFacilities campaign and wants to include two more notable mentions and second runners up. Congratulations to the Town of Grimsby, with its new recreation facility, and to the Township of Uxbridge, which recreated a successful “Active150” Challenge. These two runners up will each receive $500 each towards a future ORFA course registration. Thank you for all the submissions; we loved seeing what was happening in your area. The ORFA will be posting, and celebrating our winners on our social media platforms. Follow us on.
