Privacy Policy

The Ontario Recreation Facilities Association Inc. (ORFA) collects information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPEDA applies to personal information about an identifiable individual, but does not include the name, title and business address or business phone number of an employee of an organization. It does not apply to information about corporations, including donors, members, clients and suppliers. PIPEDA applies only to individuals. Any personal information collected by the ORFA is used solely for the purposes of providing membership services and will not be used for other any purpose without the expressed prior consent of the individual member.

The ORFA, subject to The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), will (i) report to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada breaches of security safeguards involving personal information that pose a real risk of significant harm to individuals, (ii) notify affected individuals about those breaches, and (iii) keep records of all breaches.

Record of Training

The ORFA maintains training records and views these records as personal and confidential with the individual who has taken the training; regardless of who may have paid for the actual training event.  The ORFA continues to strongly recommend that employers establish a clear internal policy with respect to employee training record responsibilities. Each student has access to and the ability to print a written grade report, and where applicable, a certificate of successful completion found under their personal training profile.

In the case whereby the training event is paid for by the employer, the ORFA is prepared to confirm whether or not an employee attended the course; as daily attendance is taken in all courses. It is not prepared to release pass or fail or scores without prior authorization by the individual taking the training.
