Each year, in the month of October, the ORFA invests in the memory of the lives lost in Fernie, BC in October 2017 by providing education and awareness on the importance of proper operation and management of Ontario’s ice sheet refrigeration equipment and related assets. Much has happened since 2017 to assist owners, users and operators in better understanding roles and responsibilities associated with these industrial refrigeration plants. ORFA’s Director, Training, Research and Development is hosting a 1-hour webinar to highlight what the ORFA has been doing to reduce risk and improve regulatory compliance. He will explain how regulations are designed to allow owners and users to develop their own training and maintenance plans based on the specific industry and related best practices.

Who should attend?

• Members who have direct staffing responsibilities associated with a registered industrial ice sheet refrigeration plant.
• Members who have direct responsibilities for sourcing refrigeration contractor services associated with the maintenance of a registered industrial ice sheet refrigeration plant.
• CAO’s or elected officials that want to better understand roles and responsibilities associated with a registered industrial ice sheet refrigeration plant.
• Facility operators who are expected to enter a registered industrial ice sheet refrigeration plant to take readings or perform any work in the plant room.
