The ORFA, in collaboration with the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA), and Marmak Information Technologies, has customized a user-friendly software application based on OGRA’s successful Municipal DataWorks (MDW) asset repository program. “This new software application will greatly assist recreation facility professionals in the collection and management of recreation facility assets data and is available as a member service to all ORFA members” says, Rob Tunney, ORFA’s President and Chair of the Board.
According to John Milton, ORFA’s Chief Administrative Officer, “ORFA is delighted to partner with both the OGRA, who have a very long and strong history of advocating for sustainable infrastructure funding on behalf of its municipal membership, as well as with Marmak, who provides a citizen engagement portal as part of a broad range of cost effective municipal web-based solutions and services.”
The RFAM application has been in development over the last four months and has been enhanced with feedback provided from members of ORFA’s Technical Advisory Committees as well as pilot users from the Town of Midland, Township of Brock, Town of Petawawa, Town of New Tecumseth, Town of Tillsonburg, the RA Centre in Ottawa, and the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi. According to John Tarantino, Vice-President of Marmak, “Marmak welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with both ORFA and OGRA in assisting with the development and deployment of the RFAM solution. We believe that the RFAM solution will become a valuable municipal facility management tool in assisting ORFA members with their increasing responsibilities in infrastructure asset management.”
The ORFA is pleased to announce that the RFAM program is now officially available for access and will be demonstrated at the 61st Annual Professional Development Program and EXPO tradeshow, Monday, April 25, 2016, 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m., at the University of Guelph Fieldhouse.
Interested members will be serviced on a first come, first served basis through Marmak. Please contact: Stephanie Tarantino, Customer Advocate, 905.458.6686 x223 or stephanie@marmak.ca
