Ontario Registered Industrial Refrigeration Ice Surface Compliance and Safe Operation Pathway
The Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) is a not-for-profit organization that is membership driven. At times, and for the betterment of the recreation facility sector, the ORFA will provide guidance and direction to assist all stakeholders in refrigeration safety.
Aging infrastructure, a high turnover of skilled workers and ongoing financial pressures are creating significant challenges across Canada. Ontario has one of the largest inventories of indoor ice sheets that are entering their senior phase of a typical building lifecycle. In the interest of public and worker safety, the ORFA provides the following information in anticipation of reducing the risk of refrigeration plant failure and the potential for critical injury.
