ORFA Member Notice of Bereavement

January 29, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and Jason Boyer's approval that we share news of a tragedy experienced by ORFA President-Elect, Jason Boyer and his family in December 2025.

On behalf of the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association, we wish to extend our sincere condolences to Jason and his family on the loss of his wife Nicole, daughters Zoe and Pyper and the family labrador. The ORFA is thinking of Jason, and sends our love, strength, and support to him and other family members.

Jason is a respected member of our ORFA community and team.  As the Director of Community Services with the City of Dryden and previously with the Town of Cochrane, as a dedicated NEORA member, and as ORFA Board of Director, President-Elect, and Chair of the ORFA Membership Committee and member of ORFA's Administration and Finance Committee.

Beginning their journey in the Niagara Region, Jason and Nicole were happily married for 18 years and the births of Zoe and Pyper were the highlights of their lives together. They were devoted and loving parents who put family first. Early in their marriage they ventured to Northern Ontario wanting to be more connected to the natural world they loved and have more time with the kids in outdoor activities year-round.

We ask ORFA members to please keep Jason and his loved ones in your thoughts.
