The Rising Tide of Recreation Worker Violence in the Facility (Workplace)

Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Virtual • Noon to 1:00 pm

ORFA members have identified an increase in risk of violence in their workplaces. This issue of violence in the workplace is not new but has been significantly magnified since the pandemic. Users have lost the sense of acceptable decorum when accessing all forms of public recreational infrastructure. This webinar will look at current regulatory obligation, real time experiences, and tools they have created to address the issue. Any member at work today must have received violence in the workplace training. Supervisory staff are legally obligated to have several posted tools as well as policy and procedures in place to be compliant.

Presenters: Terry Piche, ORFA Director of Training, Research and Development is joined by Jeff Pajot, Public Services Health and Safety Association and Mike Burgess, C.E.O., Burgess and Associates Inc.

This webinar is worth 1 professional development credits towards recertification of any ORFA professional designation
